Equity markets are adapting to a stronger growth environment, as evidenced by the strong performance of cyclical sectors such as energy and materials, Morgan Stanley said.

Recent moves in the U.S. stock market suggest that investors are beginning to price in a "no-holds-barred" economic scenario, which involves rising expectations for economic growth, equity strategists at Morgan Stanley said Monday. "However, macro data and stock market leadership have begun to support a no-landing outcome," Morgan Stanley strategists led by Michael Wilson said in a report. Strong economic data and a higher-than-expected inflation report have also lowered expectations for a Fed rate cut.

Asian stocks were mostly lower on Wednesday after Wall Street snapped its record bull run with its worst day in weeks. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 1.1% to 16,753.82, while Shanghai's Composite Heel Index dropped 0.2% to 3,070.04. Analysts said that despite recent relatively positive economic signs from China, there is growing concern that the sentiment that has panicked Wall Street could spread to Asia.
