Two of last year's biggest winners are still in contention.

With investment-banking business surging in the first quarter, big-bank bosses have made no secret of their enthusiasm for Wall Street, and they're holding out fresh hope for a sustained resurgence in trading.

Asian stocks slumped on Tuesday, following Wall Street's plunge, after rising yields in the U.S. bond market put pressure on equities. In the oil market, a barrel of U.S. crude for May delivery fell 10 cents to $85.31 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Stock futures rose and benchmark oil prices fell on Monday, as traders' worries about interest rates outweighed geopolitical tensions.

In 2018, Wall Street projected Apple's 2023 margins to be around 39%. in fact, the margins were much higher, at 44%.

On Friday, Wall Street rushed to get good news from the banks after a fiery inflation report dashed hopes of an imminent rate cut.

"The simple idea is that you just replace junior people with AI tools," a Deutsche Bank chief strategy officer told the New York Times.
