AvalonBay Communities(NYSE: AVB) owns or holds title to 299 apartment communities in 12 U.S. states and the District of Columbia with more than 90,000 apartment homes, including 18 communities under development. In its most recent investor presentation, the company listed New York as one of its "Mature Areas" and Florida as one of its "Expanding Areas".
